The challenge

Across four lodges, TVs, AV equipment and kitchen gear routinely went missing between rooms and storerooms. Manual audits took three weeks and rarely matched the register, and no one could say with confidence where a given asset was on any given day.

The solution

Serengeti Lodges tagged every room asset with QR and RFID, set up zone-exit alerts at storeroom doors, and moved stock-takes to mobile scan sessions scoped by building. Front-of-house staff check items in and out from their phones.

The results

Audits now take two days instead of three weeks, and zero tracked assets have gone missing since zone alerts went live. The register stays within 98% accuracy between counts, and month-end reporting is a single export.

We stopped losing equipment across sites the month we switched on zone alerts.
