Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Asetavo is an asset tracking and tagging platform operated by GeoMine Business Analytics LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company in the United States. For personal data about visitors to our website and users of our own account, Asetavo is the "controller". When we process personal data contained in your workspace on your behalf, you are the controller and we act as your "processor" under our Data Processing Addendum.

2. Data we collect

We collect: account data (name, work email, company, phone, country, role) you provide when you register, book a demo or contact us; usage data (pages viewed, features used, device and browser type, IP address, approximate location) collected automatically to operate and secure the Service; content data you choose to put into your workspace (assets, tags, locations, custodians, documents) — this may include limited personal data such as the name of a staff member who holds an asset; and communications (support messages, form submissions). We collect only what we need for the purposes below.

3. How we use it

We use personal data to: provide, maintain and secure the Service; authenticate users and manage accounts; process payments and send service and billing notices; respond to demos, sales and support requests; understand usage so we can improve the product; detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents; and meet legal obligations. With your consent, we may send product updates and marketing you can opt out of at any time. We do not sell personal data.

4. Legal bases

Where the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA ("CCPA/CPRA"), or similar laws apply, we rely on: contract (to provide the Service you signed up for); legitimate interests (to secure, support and improve the Service, and for limited marketing to existing customers); consent (for non-essential cookies and marketing to prospects, which you can withdraw); and legal obligation (tax, accounting and compliance). You can object to processing based on legitimate interests as described in Section 10.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are always on; analytics and other non-essential cookies load only after you consent. See our Cookie Policy for the categories we use and how to change your choices at any time.

6. Sharing and sub-processors

We share personal data only with: service providers ("sub-processors") who help us run the Service — such as cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics and payment processing — under contracts that require appropriate protection; professional advisers, auditors and authorities where required by law; and a successor entity in the event of a merger or acquisition, with notice. A current list of sub-processors is available on request at privacy@asetavo.com. We never sell personal data or share it for third-party advertising.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United States and may process data in other countries where we or our sub-processors operate. Where personal data is transferred across borders — for example from the EU, UK or Switzerland — we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (and the UK Addendum) or an equivalent recognized mechanism, so your data receives a comparable level of protection wherever it is processed.

8. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: account and workspace data for the life of your account and for a limited period afterwards to allow export and meet legal, tax and audit obligations; website and usage logs for a shorter period; and marketing data until you opt out. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

9. Security

We protect personal data with technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, revocable credentials, network hardening, least-privilege access, logging and regular review. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you and the relevant authority of any breach that legally requires it. Learn more on our Security & Compliance page.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, update, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, receive a copy in a portable format, or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights for data we control, email privacy@asetavo.com. Where the data sits inside a customer workspace, we act on the workspace controller's instructions — please contact them directly, and we will assist them. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the EU/UK, your supervisory authority).

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to request access to or deletion or correction of that information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. Asetavo does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CPRA. To make a request, email privacy@asetavo.com; you may use an authorized agent, and we will verify your request before responding.

11. Children

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact privacy@asetavo.com and we will delete it.

12. Changes

We may update this policy as our Service and the law evolve. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email. The "Last updated" date shows the current version.
