Depreciation

Depreciation is the systematic reduction of an asset’s book value over its useful life.

EPC (Electronic Product Code)

The Electronic Product Code is the unique identifier written to the memory of a UHF-RFID tag.

NBV (Net Book Value)

Net Book Value is an asset’s original cost minus its accumulated depreciation.

PM (Preventive Maintenance)

Preventive maintenance is scheduled service performed before a failure occurs, based on time or usage.

QR code

A QR code is a 2D barcode that a phone camera can scan to identify a tagged asset.

RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)

RBAC grants permissions based on a user’s role rather than to each individual, so access matches responsibility.

RFID portal

An RFID portal is a fixed reader installed at a doorway or gate for automatic asset detection.

Stock-take

A stock-take is a physical count of assets checked against the register.

TID (Tag ID)

The TID is the unique, factory-set identifier permanently written to an RFID chip at manufacture.

Zone-exit alert

A zone-exit alert is a real-time notification triggered when a tagged asset is detected leaving a zone it is authorized to be in.
