Check-out assigns temporary custody of an asset — a laptop to a new starter, a camera to a field team, a torque wrench to a job — and records who has it, when they took it and when it is due back. It is the everyday control for shared equipment.
Why it matters
Shared kit is where losses hide: nobody is sure who had it last. Check-out makes custody explicit, gives you a due date to chase and creates a history of who used what. Combined with check-in, it tells you utilization too — which assets are always out, and which never leave the shelf.
Typical fields
- Borrower (person, team or job)

In Asetavo
Check out by scanning the asset's tag in the mobile app and choosing the borrower and due date. Overdue check-outs raise alerts in real time, and disposals are blocked while an asset is checked out.
