Assign a tag to an asset

Link a QR, barcode, NFC or UHF RFID tag to an asset so any scan finds it.

Prerequisites

The “edit” permission. NFC needs the Growth plan; UHF RFID needs Business.

Open the asset → Tags tab → Assign tag
Choose the tag type: QR, barcode, NFC or UHF RFID.
Enter or scan the code
Enter the QR/barcode value, or the RFID EPC. You can also assign tags while scanning with a handheld.
Save
An asset can hold several active tags — for example a QR label and an RFID tag — and scanning any of them opens the same asset.
Warning
A code or EPC that is already active on another asset is rejected. For RFID, an EPC that was already activated, or a mismatched chip ID, is rejected and logged as a suspected clone.
