Roles and permissions

What each permission allows, and how to add a user or change what someone can do.

Access is deny-by-default: every screen and action needs a specific permission, and workspace owners hold them all. Screens you don’t have permission for show a “permission required” message instead.

  1. Know the nine permissions

View (see assets and reports) · Create (add assets) · Edit (update, move, tag, check out, work orders) · Delete · Manage (locations, categories, custom fields, PM schedules) · Finance (cost fields, depreciation, disposal) · Audit (stock-takes) · Devices (readers, zones, tag orders, NFC links) · Alerts (alert rules, acknowledge alerts).

  2. Combine them into roles

Typical examples: an auditor has View + Audit; finance has View + Finance; a technician has View + Edit; security has View + Devices + Alerts.

  3. Add a user or change a role

Users and their permissions are set up by your workspace owner. During onboarding, send us your list of users and roles at support@asetavo.com and we’ll configure them.

Questions

No. Finance fields are removed from what they can see and from what they can change, even through the API.
