Change an asset’s status

Mark an asset as in use, in store, in repair, in transit, lost or written off.

Prerequisites

The “edit” permission.

Open the asset and select Change status
Choose from In use, In store, In repair, In transit, Lost or Written off.
Pick the new status and add a note
The change is recorded in the asset’s history.
Tip
To retire an asset properly — with proceeds and gain or loss — use Dispose instead of just changing the status.
