Physical asset tracking software for Nigeria
Equipment, not investment funds: a cloud register for Nigerian companies, MDAs and NGOs to tag assets, run verification exercises and keep book and tax figures in step. Values in naira, billing in US dollars, free to start.
Physical asset management, not fund management
Search for asset management in Nigeria and most results are fund managers and investment houses. This page is about the other kind: the generators, laptops, vehicles, telecom equipment, branch furniture and plant that an organisation owns and must be able to find, count and value. Asetavo is a register of those physical assets, with tags, scanning, custody and depreciation.
How to run an asset verification exercise across Nigerian sites
Year-end audits, mergers and new finance leadership often trigger a full asset verification exercise. It usually fails in the same place: the register does not say which branch, floor or person holds each item, so the count cannot be reconciled. Asetavo turns the exercise into scoped sessions that teams can run in parallel in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Load the existing register
Import the asset list from Excel or CSV, mapping your columns to Asetavo fields.
Tag what is untagged
Print QR labels from the register, or order durable tags on quote for generators and outdoor equipment.
Count by state, branch and room
Each team opens a stock-take session for its own site and scans with a phone, a handheld scanner or, on Business, a UHF RFID reader.
Resolve and report
Review found, missing and unregistered items, resolve each one, and export the variance to Excel for the auditors.
The verification variance, site by site
- Each session lists found, missing and unregistered assets for one site or room.
- Resolve each item: found it, still searching, or write off.
- Export the variance and the updated register to Excel or CSV.

Capital allowances after the 2025 tax reforms
Nigeria does not allow book depreciation as a tax deduction; relief comes through capital allowances on qualifying capital expenditure. The 2025 tax reform laws, which took effect in January 2026, rewrote how those allowances are computed and replaced the Federal Inland Revenue Service with the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS).
Whatever the current schedule says, your adviser needs the same facts from the register: what each asset is, its category, what it cost, when it came into use and when it was disposed of. Asetavo keeps those on every asset and lets you hold a tax depreciation profile beside the book one, so tax and accounting figures come from one source.
This is general context, not tax advice. Categories, rates and qualifying conditions are set by the current law; confirm the treatment of your assets with your tax adviser or the NRS.
IPSAS asset registers for MDAs and state governments
Federal and state public bodies that have moved to accrual accounting under IPSAS need a register of property, plant and equipment that records location, condition, cost and accumulated depreciation, and that is physically verified. Asetavo records those fields per asset and per location, and keeps every verification session as evidence. It does not certify IPSAS compliance; your accountants decide the policies.
Oil and gas, telecoms, banking and NGOs
Oil and gas service companies
Tools, test equipment and plant moving between yards and sites, on rugged tags with servicing and calibration dates.
Telecoms and tower operators
Generators, batteries and site equipment across many remote sites, each site a location with its own count.
Banks and branch networks
ATMs, IT equipment and furniture across branches, verified branch by branch with one standard.
NGOs and development projects
Donor-funded vehicles and field equipment with a custodian at every hand-over.
Naira values, dollar billing and patchy networks
Keep the register in naira as your workspace currency; the Asetavo subscription is billed in US dollars. Phone scanning works in any mobile browser today. Where the network drops, the native iOS and Android apps, coming soon to the App Store and Google Play, will keep every action on the phone and sync it once you reconnect.
Official sources
Tax and reporting rules change. These are the official pages behind the general context above (checked 2026-10-09). They are not tax advice: confirm the treatment of your assets with your accountant or tax adviser.
